HATTIESBURG, Miss. – (October 20, 2021) Forrest General Hospital is featured in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” guidebook where it received a platinum designation. Every year, U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” helps patients and caregivers find the best medical centers for themselves and their families.
In the 2022 guidebook, the American College of Cardiology (ACC) recognizes the more than 2,000 hospitals, centers and health systems that participate in the NCDR and/or have been awarded accreditation by the College for their commitment to optimizing patient care and outcomes. Using this national recognition, the ACC highlights these facilities that are leaders in implementing the highest standards of patient care and protocols to ensure positive health outcomes. Communities know that they can rely on those institutions recognized to deliver superior cardiovascular care for patients.
“At Forrest General, we take great pride in providing cutting edge care at the highest quality,” said cardiologist, Chris Douglas, MD.
Forrest General Hospital is rated high performing in seven adult procedures and conditions. These include: Cath PCI Registry; Chest Pain-MI Registry; EP Device Implant Registry; LAAO Registry; STS/ACC TVT Registry and Chest Pain-MI Registry. The evaluation of Forrest General also includes data from Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services.
Patients and caregivers can trust hospitals and centers that participate in the NCDR, receive the ACC’s Accreditation seal of approval, and are recognized with the Chest Pain – MI Registry™ Performance Achievement Award and the HeartCARE Center™ Award for delivering the best cardiovascular patient care.
“We are proud Forrest General received this platinum designation and is included in U.S. News & World Report ‘Best Hospitals’ guide,” said Millie Swan, Forrest Health vice president. “At Forrest General, our healthcare professionals are committed to providing the best possible care of our patients.”
